The Centre for Advanced Research (CARe) was established in 2013 in response to calls by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Chancellor of UBD at the 25th UBD Convocation Ceremony. In his Titah, His Majesty highlighted the crucial roles the Centre will play with regard to developing impactful research on national issues, as well as to building international recognition for the university.

To be a platform for local and international interdisciplinary research collaboration
To provide professional training to graduate students, university staff and researchers from various sectors
The Centre welcomes commissioned projects from both public and private sectors. We provide a collaborative platform for researchers from different disciplines to work together on several overlapping research areas pertinent to the research clusters.
